Fios Remote Not Working

Fios Remote Not Working

Based on my community forum and the official support forum, the following are the most common problems with Verizon Fios remotes.

  • Blinking red light (many times)
  • The volume button on the Fios remote does not work
  • There is a problem with the power button
  • Changing channels is not an option
  • Your TV should not be turned on or off
  • There is no response from the Remote
  • Problems with pairing

Do you have the same issues I mentioned above with your Fios remote?

Here we are at the end of the journey. The page you are on now contains all the solutions to the problems you are facing.

Fios Remote blinking Red light – Fixed

In other words, what does it mean? There were some users who experienced blinking five or more times.

There’s no need to worry about it because it’s not a serious problem. There is insufficient charge on the batteries of the Fios remote, which is why the red light flashes. As an indication, this is true. Batteries should be used in good health. The charge will drain to 95% when it reaches that point.

Check the blinking LED bulb to confirm the problem. The batteries inserted in the remote may be the problem if it flashes with a dimmed light.

The remote battery may have become dirty, and if it appears to be working again with another spare battery from another device, the problem is likely caused by the dirty battery.

The batteries should be immediately replaced with new ones. There will be a fix for the issue.

What to do if the volume and channel buttons on the Fios Remote don’t work

There seems to be a problem with Fios remote volume and channel buttons that is not responding.

Two critical factors may be responsible for the problem, including

  1. Problems with synchronization
  2. The button has been physically damaged

You can resolve the issue by following these troubleshooting tips.

Reset the control

In the event that you are having trouble modifying your Fios remote’s volume control to match your TV volume after programmng your Fios remote, you can simply reset the control.

It is easiest to do this by pressing the TV or control center button and the volume down button at the same time for five seconds.

Synchronization issue fixed

Verizon Fios remotes have the advantage of being able to program the TV volume through the set-top box, one of the most beloved features. The main advantage of this method is that we don’t need separate remote controls for the TV and set-top box.

Whenever there is a synchronization or programming error, volume and channel control will be affected.

You can control TV volume through Fios STB by following these steps

  • Once the OK button has been pressed and released, press the key 2 button as well. On the remote, there is a blinking red light that then remains illuminated
  • You will again see the Red light blink twice after pressing codes 9, 5, and 5 in order.
  • To activate the STB, press the power key three times on the remote control

The volume of your TV can now be controlled by your Fios set-top box.

Check the connections between the TV and the STB

It is important to make sure all the connections are properly made if you have connected your TV to external speakers, such as Sonos. Fios remotes do not change channels while experiencing connection issues, but they can change volume.

If you suspect that you made a mistake when connecting the external speaker to your TV or STB, disconnect the speaker and control the volume using the STB. A connection error or a corrupt external speaker may be the cause of the problem if the speaker works fine.

Make sure the connection and the device are both working properly before reprogramming the remote to fix the volume problem.

Not responding to Fios Voice remote? Make sure the program voice options are set correctly

Reset the voice option on the Fios set-top box if there is a problem with the voice feature on the new model Fios voice-enabled remote control.

Check the connection between the Verizon STB and the TV before proceeding. You should check the batteries to see if they are in good condition. It is possible to drain the change quickly because there is a voice option.

The next step is to follow the instructions

  • You can see your TV’s menu options by pressing the Menu button on the Fios STB
  • Click on the settings button
  • You can reset the program voice by selecting the Reset option under the Program Voice tab
  • Wait until the reset process is complete before pressing OK

The Fios voice remote must be programmed to the TV again once the reset is complete

A series of on-screen prompts will guide you through the setup of the voice remote

  • Select the settings tab from the menu
  • Select the program voice remote option from the voice control menu
  • From the available options, select Manual setup, and then click OK

The TV screen will show On-screen prompts since we selected the manual method. The voice remote can be set up on your TV by following the instructions carefully.

When prompted, select the brand of the connected TV and the Fios set-top box’s model number.

Upon completion of the setup, you will see a success message.

When programming the remote, use the correct code

Has the universal remote code been programmed into the remote? The device code you are using may be incorrect. The user manual of the remote control should contain the universal device code.

You may find the code for one specific model of remote from an unofficial source on the internet but not for yours, since there are many different models of remotes available. The code for your remote can be found in the owner’s manual.

Make sure the code you find from other sources is compatible with your remote control if you need to find it from another source. The user manual is the reason I suggested you get it.

Check for Physical Damage

It is essential to keep your remote free from damage. When the original remote breaks, it can be difficult to find a replacement (though there are many universal remotes on the market).

It is likely that there is a physical damage to your Fios remote if it is unable to operate the power, volume, and channel buttons simultaneously while some of the other buttons function.
